VISUALIZATION
Essential Question: How can you represent a three-dimensional figure with a two-dimensional drawing?
- Students will make nets for solid figures
- Isometric and orthographic drawings will be used to show attributes of figures
Essential Question: What are the building blocks of geometry?
- Students will design basic geometric figures
- Undefined terms such as point, line, and plane will be shown with visual representations
- Postulates, which will lead to proofs, will be presented
Essential Question: How can you describe the attributes of a segment or an angle?
- Segments will be measured with and without a coordinate grid
- Students will use the midpoint and distance formulas
- Protractors ("bleechh! how pedestrian?!" - Mr. C.) will be used to measure angles
